On 20th August 2018, the NFDI hosted its strategy session at the Thabo Mbeki Foundation to discuss the way forward and future dialogues.
The foundation members discussed the key issues which were State Capture and Corruption, Lack of Leadership and Economic Growth which came from the Foundation’s analysis. The members agreed to focus on helping South Africa to deepen its democratic processes and promote Constitutional values as a neutral facilitator.
NFDI Chairperson Ms Nomhle Canca indicated that the NFDI has achieved some success in conducting dialogues on a nationwide basis. The real key to our success has been developing partnership with other provincially based organisations. This organisations have provincial links to launch regional dialogues and encourage on-going dialogues through the same medium. Success on this basis has been evidenced in the Western Cape, Eastern Cape, and KwaZulu-Natal.
